December is the perfect time to tap into your reverent side and experience the magic of the season. Even the most Pollyanna-ish among us cannot argue that this is the perfect time for expressing gratitude for the people and experiences that make your life so rich.
If not now, when? As Judith Lasater told us at our last training: “The problem is, that we all think we have plenty of time.”
We at Twist Yoga ask you to to consider tuning out the noise, create some space for yourself, and quiet your mind enough to make room for the abundance of joy that even the biggest Scrooge can’t escape during the holidays.
You can come to the studio for practice, which almost always includes the perfect balance of a giant community hug and space to go inward. As Alison said in her 5:30 class on Wednesday: “We’re all on the same team here; everyone here wants you to do well.”
If you can’t make it to the studio, below are a few experiences that focus on expressing gratitude and harnessing happiness for a fulfilled life: One that extends far beyond the holiday season.
We wish you and your loved ones the happiest and healthiest of holidays.
With gratitude and love, The Twist Yoga Sangha.
Gratitude Meditation: A daily reflection on gratitude can be a powerful force for good in your life. Take some time out -even just one minute, at a stoplight- to reflect on the things you are thankful for during this ancient practice.
The Yoga of Breath: Anytime, anywhere, in any situation, take time to observe and navigate the vastness of your inner, subtler realm through the practice of conscious breathing; Pranayama – The Yoga of Breath. Simply being aware of the quality of your breath can encourage relaxation, focus, and sustained energy.
