with Jen and Skeeter Tichnor
February 14-19, 2015
Escape the cold, rainy Seattle winter and join us on Maui for a 6 days and 5 nights dedicated to opening your heart and living with awareness. We will examine practices to help us develop sweeter relationships, equanimity in life and a gracious gentleness toward ourselves.
Jen and local Maui teacher Skeeter will lead you through the delicious balance of expansion, introspection and rest. You will nourish yourself, meditate, practice asana, and, if you wish, participate in daily afternoon seminars (see offerings below) that will allow you to study yogic concepts on a deeper level.
Through these practices, you’ll explore ways we can bring our tender hearts home to the world of family, self, work, and love.
In removing ourselves from our familiar surroundings, daily activities and responsibilities, retreats afford us the opportunity to see accumulated habits of distraction which build an internal wall between ourselves and our experience.
These unconscious patterns of unaware living shield us from the inherent joy of our true nature. Daily practice helps us to become aware of these habits, while retreats emphasize continued mindfulness. This allows us to sustain an unconditional presence and an awareness unbound by circumstance.
Why not treat yourself to Maui this winter?
Aloha….. And Om.

Skeeter’s own yoga practice and her resulting teaching methodologies are uniquely her own. Both are deeply influenced by her time spent in the ocean, by the many years of in-depth work with people with developmental disorders, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and by the teachings of John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga and with Dr, Moshe Feldenkrais. Dr. Feldenkrais said, “I will be your greatest teacher, not because I am so good, but because I will teach you how to learn.” It is this teaching that continues to inspire Skeeter to become her own best teacher. She is dedicated to helping her students recognize the “guru” inside us all by co-creating, with each student, the environment and the opportunity to become his or her own best teacher.
