Leslie Whitecrow

Leslie was first introduced to yoga in 2007 in the midst of a very challenging time in her life. Seeking peace, physical movement, reprieve, and community, Leslie was happily surprised to find that yoga provided all of that and more. Practicing nearly daily, Leslie dove right in to learning all she could about this amazing practice. Many workshops later,  in 2012 she decided to take the plunge and completed her 200 hour certification through YogaWorks. Always wanting to seek deeper Leslie began to teach while simultaneously pursuing her 500 hour certification, completed with Twist Yoga.

Leslie’s classes are often set to a variety of different musical styles with plenty of challenge, and most of all a sense of lightheartedness and humor. Leslie encourages her students to bring a big heart and a small ego to class.

Leslie is also a Professional Aromatherapist and Energy worker living in Lynnwood with her partner and one-eyed zen dog named Otto whom you might see greeting you at the studio!

More Information

What’s your favorite yoga pose at the moment?

Currently backbends and heart-openers, but my favorites change all the time

Describe a moment during a yoga practice that rocked your world.

The first time I landed headstand away from the wall was a huge thing for me!!

What’s your favorite place?

I love the Pacific Ocean and Port Townsend.

What is your favorite color? Why?

Wow, I know this may sound corny but I really love all the colors. But mostly I love rich, vibrant colors because they vibrate so intensely high and make me feel happy.

Whom do you admire?

So many people, it’s hard to pick. I admire the students I teach. I admire people who work for a better world through caring for the Earth and animals. I admire my teachers who show up as they are. I admire people who are authentically themselves.

What traits in others are you attracted to?

Humor for sure. Authenticity. Honesty.

What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you?

Again, my cup runneth over here. When my mom and brother passed away last year I was blessed with so many people just allowing me to be right where I was with all of it. That stands out to me for sure.

Favorite book:

To Kill a Mockingbird. (And about hundred other books…)

Besides yoga, loves….

going on hikes and walks, super good, dark, rich coffee, reading, music, volunteering at the pig sanctuary, cooking, hanging out with my homies, movies, laughing, finding and writing in super groovy journals, old book stores, eating dark chocolate…yum!

Favorite thing about Twist Yoga?

The vibe. You know what I’m talking about. It’s the feeling you feel there. It’s peaceful and everyone is just so inclusive and kind. There is no pretense of any sort  nor any of that yoga-holier-than-thou kind of thing. Twist has a very lovely community feel to it. I feel honored to be a part of it.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Come have fun and explore. Lighten up. It’s just yoga, after all.  Fill up the mojo and then spread it around!
