Kristin Reed

Kristin began teaching yoga in 2009 after completing her RYT 500 training from Sunstone Yoga Academy in Addison, TX.  Coming from a background of competitive gymnastics and modern dance, her greatest passion is helping others find freedom in their bodies and move to their fullest potential.   Her classes focus on finding ease in asana and cultivating careful observation of the body and mind through practice.  In 2013 Kristin began her studies in Vedic Thai Yoga Therapy with the Vedic Conservatory.  She currently specializes in working with clients one-on-one to increase mobility, decrease pain and change their cellular memory.  Outside of the classroom you will find Kristin in the dance studio, occasionally on the stage, travelling the world with her husband as often as possible, and of course managing the front desk at Twist!

More Information

What’s your favorite yoga pose at the moment?

At the moment – heart openers.  All the time though?Anything balancing upside down.  Being upside down is my absolute favorite!

Describe a moment during a yoga practice that rocked your world.

I would say the first time I received Vedic Thai Assisted Yoga.  Everything about it – the stretching, the compression, the muscle and fascial release, the meditation… It penetrated so deep to the core of my being.  Never felt anything like it before!  It was the missing piece for me.

What’s your favorite place?

Monterey, CA where my grandparents lived.  I don’t know why but it is the most beautiful and relaxing place on earth to me.

What is your favorite color?

I constantly waver between green, blue and purple.  Although sometimes I really think it is red…

Whom do you admire?

Anyone facing their fears.  Anyone being their authentic self.

What traits in others are you attracted to?

Confidence, lightheartedness, humility.

What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you?

Too many things to count.  I am constantly in awe of all the random acts of kindness I find each day.

Favorite book:

I really don’t read as much as I would like, but if I’m reading non-fiction I love Breakfast of Champions or anything by Kurt Vonnegut.

Besides yoga, loves…

Modern dance, kitties, world travel with my husband, laughing, making new friends, cooking…
