Carmen Greenleaf

Carmen has been teaching yoga since 1998. She first studied with Richard Schachtel in the Iyengar tradition, but discovered Power Yoga, and fell in love with the flow and challenge. A Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, she completed her 200 RYT with Baptiste Power Yoga Institute in 2007.  Carmen completed her 500RYT in 2014 with Twist Yoga’s 500 hr Independent Study Program.  While she enjoys teaching a challenging, rigorous practice, Carmen strives to provide a peaceful space for her students so that they can experience all that comes up for them on their mat, and learn to deal with it in a healthy way.  “Not only is it great for getting your body in shape, Yoga shows you how you think and react.  When you are met with all the challenges that life throws at you, your yoga practice can show you how to cope in a peaceful and loving way. “

Carmen is a former ballet dancer, studying classical ballet from the time she was three until she danced professionally in Spokane from 1993-1994 with Conservatory Ballet Theater. Carmen has attended numerous yoga teacher trainings and worksops, and her greatest yoga influences are Baron Baptiste, Sadie Nardini, Philip Urso, Stacie Dockins, Stephanie Adams, Megan Carroll and Lisa Black.  She holds a BA in Political Science and PR from Gonzaga University. She resides in Lynnwood with her husband and three sons.
